About Gabonista
Gabonista is a gift of gab, not a niche.
It’s where fashion, home, beauty, tech, culture, and lived experience collide—curated by someone who’s done the work, raised the kids, survived the chaos, and still has opinions worth sharing.
I’m Rachel. I’ve spent years designing websites, managing digital projects, building brands, raising three kids, caring for aging parents, and figuring out how to rebuild a life (and income) more than once. Somewhere along the way, I developed a sharp eye for what’s worth owning, what’s worth fixing, and what’s absolutely not worth your time.
Gabonista is where all of that lands.
What You’ll Find Here
This isn’t a blog that exists to sell you everything. It exists to show you what actually holds up.
-
Non-Negotiables – Products I genuinely use and would replace immediately if they disappeared
-
Fashion I Actually Wear – Outfits, staples, and archive looks that work in real life
-
Home & Interiors – Design-forward finds, cleaning tools that earn their keep, and things that quietly make life better
-
Books (That Aren’t Really About Reading) – Visually stunning books chosen for beauty, not book reports
-
Tech & Media – Tools, apps, fixes, and media worth your attention
-
Personal Takes – Because context matters, and taste doesn’t appear out of nowhere
Some posts are reviews. Some are photo-forward recommendations. Some are just me telling you why something is good—or why it isn’t.
Affiliate links show up where they make sense. If something’s here, it passed my internal “would I recommend this to a friend who trusts me” test.
My Point of View
I don’t do clutter—digital or otherwise.
I don’t do trends that evaporate in six months.
I don’t do pretending.
I believe:
-
Good design should make your life easier
-
Style should feel personal, not performative
-
Quality always reveals itself over time
-
You don’t need more stuff—you need better judgment
Gabonista is curated, not constant. Opinionated, not optimized to death.
Why Gabonista Exists
Because I’ve lived enough life to know the difference between marketing and value.
Because taste is built, not bought.
Because after decades of taking care of everyone else, I’m finally building something that reflects me—my eye, my standards, my sense of humor, and my refusal to waste time on mediocrity.
Because I was fired from my last job as a Web Project Manager for interrupting.
If you’re here for thoughtful recommendations, honest opinions, and things that quietly elevate your day without screaming for attention—you’re in the right place.
Welcome to Gabonista.
Pull up a chair.
